The Campbeltown Heritage Centre has just published A Sense of Place: Kintyre’s Remarkable Diaspora, a book about the history and geography of Kintyre that made it a hot spot for genetic diversity, leading to Campbeltown becoming the richest town in Scotland in the 19th century. The book, written by Professor Ronald Roberts, includes biographies of over fifty internationally significant people born or brought up in the area between 1800 – 2000. The price is £17.50 plus postage and packing, available now.
